Revision Week 2

Hello,
Thanks to all the students who prepared their presentations. It was very important that you got over any nervousness you might have had and I am confident that your next presentations will be even better. I am looking forward to seeing the other students' presentations on Sunday.

In the meantime, we have to get ready for the mini-quiz as well.
And these are the revision questions:

    What is an airport?
    Large facilities where aircrafts land and take off. And buildings for passengers called terminals often more than one terminal where they process passengers and freight and then airlines transport these people and things all over the world



    2. In your opinion, what is the main role of an airport? Provide supporting information.
    In my opinion security is the main role for airport today because airport like the doorway in and out of the country and every country needs to be careful about who and what is coming in and going out



    3. Name some of the facilities of an airport and provide a short definition for each one.

    Passenger: security- dining- WI-Fi- play area- shopping – beauty- spa- medical canter
    Airline: routine maintenance- duty free on board- catering- cargo loading and unloading de-icing fright processing.


    5. Define an airline, an-air-freight company, a low-cost carrier (LCC), a national flag carrier.
    Airline : air transport service for passengers and freight
    an-air-freight company: airline carries goods
    low-cost carrier (LCC): low cost airline
    a national flag carrier: the major airline represent the country

    6. What is a hub airport?
    Airline use a hub and spoke model to transport passenger and cargo between cities and before arriving at a final destination a plane stop in a hub airport

    1. What is an airport?

    A large facilities where aircraft such as plans and helicopters , take off and land .
    Also it has many facilities such as control tower and runway .

    2. In your opinion, what is the main role of an airport? Provide supporting information.

    I think that security is the most important role of an airport .
    Airport like a doorway into a country , so each country has to be careful about what or who is moving in and out of the country and the security responsible for the protection of the people and the airport .

    3. Name some of the facilities of an airport and provide a short definition for each one.

     Terminal : the place where you arrive at an airport where the check in area is located .

    • landside :accessible to everyone .
     Parking Facilities .
     Drop off area .
     Pick up area .
     Commercial outlets : Shops – Cafes – currency exchange = place where passengers can change money .
     Check-in desk .
    • Airside : restricted only for passengers
     Concourse : large hallway in an airport where duty-free and restaurants are often located and where passengers have access to gates .
     Gate .
     Maintenance Facilities .
     Hangar : A place where an aircraft are kept .
     Fuel depot : A place used for the storage of aircraft fuel .

    It is a place where the passengers go to travel to other countries, also it has large facilities for take off and land.



    In my opinion the most important role of an airport is security because the airport is a doorway into a county and it should be has security to safe, protect the people and to see what happening in airport.



    Passengers; playing area for children, smoking area, prayer area

    Airlines; cargo loading and a loading, duty free, routine maintenance.



    Airline; company which transfer passengers and cargo.

    LCC; a cheap price for carrier.

    A national flag carrier; the main airline which represent the country.

    Is an airport that an airline used as a transport point to get passengers to their final destination.

    The control tower, because they will save a lot of passenger, if they send wrong information to pilot, May airplane will damage.
