The Journey of a Suitcase

Hello,

Here is an excellent interactive site that explains what happens to a bag after it is checked-in or in other words:

THE JOURNEY OF A SUITCASE

or
http://www.jetfriends.com/jetfriends2/kids/

Take notes and then explain to your classmates how the baggage handling system works.

Write a short summary of how the system works.

Regards,

RV

First of all passenger allow to carry 32 kg . If it more passenger will pay extra for excess luggage , after that at check-in disk paasenger will handle the baggage to the employee and she or he will put baggage tag.To identify the owner for the luggage and after that passenger will divorce his baggage . And know the responsibility for the airline if it's damaged and passenger allow to carry hand bag 7kg.

  8. The baggage handling systim at an airport is important to keep passenger happy.

There are steps to move baggage from the check-in to the plane and the system should move as fast as passengers move. The first step when you chick in your luggage the employee at the counter puts a tag to each picee of baggage. The bar code on the tag is read by scanners all along the converyor system. The tag contains the passenger information. The IATA code of the airport on the tag can be double-checked by baggage handler before each bag is loaded.

The system of baggage handling is supported by new technologies to move bags from the check in counter to the departure gate automatically.

Finally, when passengers reach the final destination they can take thier baggage from baggage from baggage reclaim from a machine called carousel

  10. At check in, the staff put a barcoded baggage tag for all baggage at the counter area. Next, the luggage is carried onto a conveyor belt and starts long journey to the plane. It makes its way during the baggage handling system with different stations where it is checked it carefully and is placed in x- rayed to be sure if there is dangerous goods by security. After that, baggage passes through scanner gate. Then, baggages are loaded automatically, as well as some of them pass through the underground tunnels and transport the luggage to the plane. Before the bags are loaded on the plane, the baggage checked by baggage personnel.

The first step is when the check-in staff check your luggage they put a tag to each piece of baggage which contains a code that can read by scanners along the conveyor belt system. This tag has infromation about the personal information ,flight number, and destination .This system of baggage handling works automatically to route the luggage from check-in to the departure gate. Also a there is a baggage handler who are check the luggage again to ensure that everything is going all right.

Finally , when you arrive at your destination airport you will find your bag at the baggage reclaim area from a machine which is called carousel.
